My current skincare routine

Hi guys,

so because I'm quite new to this world and none of you know me, I thought I would post the things I love and use at the moment, along with some reviews of recent purchases. The things I use every single day are my skincare products. I've tried a lot of them, and by a lot I really mean a lot, and the ones I currently like are actually quite basic. You can get a view of them at your local drugstore and some of them at your pharmacy (at least I had to buy it there, I'm not sure if they are sold there in other countries).

I've got a different routine in the morning than I have in the evening, so I will show you both and explain why I use different products. For those of you wondering, I have a acne prone skin which is quite hard to deal with, so the cleanser or brush for example can be a bit to aggressive if you have a dry or sensitive skin, keep that in mind!

  • The products I use

Some of the products like the Garnier cleanser I'm still trying, which means I have no idea if they're going to turn out good or bad after I used them a while. A review will follow (of course)!

  • Garnier Pure Active Fruit Energy Daily Energising Gel Wash (for oily skin)

  • Nivea Daily Essentials Refreshing Toner (for normal and combination skin)

  • Yves Rocher Pure Calendula Regenerating Day & Night Cream (for all skin types)

  • Dr. van der Hoog Fresh Expression SPF 15 moisturizer

  • Bourjois Micellar Cleansing Water

I'm not sure if you can get the Dr. van der Hoog moisturizer in other countries besides Holland, but I'm not a fan of it to be honest. It's way to think and leaves a greasy layer on my skin, so I'm looking for another moisturizer with at least SPF 15..

  • Morning routine

  1. Wash face with lukewarm (this sounds so unnatural oh my god) water.

  2. Use cleanser with face brush (the brush is optional).

  3. Put on some moisturizer with at least SPF 15 (higher if possible).

So this is basically my morning routine. I don't use the facebrush every morning because I'm a sucker for sleep, so most of the time I'm in a hurry. But if I feel like my face needs a little bit more than just the cleanser I use the electric brush. Popular brushes are the Clarisonic and Philips VisaPure.

  • Evening routine

  1. Use a cotton pad soaked with micellar water to take of the make-up (if you wore any).

  2. Use cleanser with face brush (the brush is optional).

  3. Use a toner without alcohol(!) (also optional).

  4. Put on a rich moisturizer that suits your skin's needs.

So this are my routines, everyone has a different one and every skin has its own needs, but this are at least the basic things you need to do. I also use a face mask once or twice a week, but I still haven't found any kind of mask that really does something to my skin (maybe it's just my skin.. I don't know?)..

If any of you got any kind of tips for acne prone skin or just wants to share her/his routine, you can leave a comment below!

Thanks for reading guys,
x Jimmy
